“I love the Dram! More than any magazine, it really allows me to keep up with all the happenings in The Scottish Licensed Trade. It is really well balanced across all styles of the industry, and it is a must read every month.”
“I love DRAM as a magazine. I particularly enjoy the interviews on licensees and the Movers and Shakers of the month. These features keep me up to date on what is happening and who is doing a good job. You get the facts, but it is also a light-hearted, enjoyable read, very happening.”
I“I read DRAM from front to back, and spend time reading whatever jumps out and gets me interested. Because we are a young people’s venue, I enjoy DRAM as it always has new ideas, and I like to learn about people’s opinions and what they are thinking. It provides a good inside look at other bars, and licenses in the industry. It’s great to learn what other people in the industry do, which is really informative. The products page is of great relevance to keep you up to date. I always keep it aside and use it for a reference guide later on.”
“I have been in the industry for years and have been reading DRAM from cover to cover for at least 8 years. I particularly like the property section as I am originally from Ayrshire so I like to know what’s happening in my area and all around. The products page is also of great interest as its very informative and keeps me up to date. I’ve noticed it has been doing a big push on cider over the last year. I like the in depth features on licensees/publicans, as I enjoy hearing their opinions and thoughts on what is happening in the industry i.e. the smoking ban. An inside look at other venues is also interesting. Overall a great magazine.”
“It’s an enjoyable read, good for wee hints I can pass on to staff about the industry. Great for keeping me up to date, and overall it’s a good read. I get a lot of information from it, which I use when informing staff who are also encouraged to read it.”
“DRAM is one of the few trade publications I take the time to read. It’s always up to date with relevant information on what’s happening in your area and the wider field. A great read as a whole, and I enjoy finding out what’s happening with competitors. When I’ve read the interviews and main features, it’s always kept handy as a research, reference guide.”
“I find DRAM interesting. I get good tips from reading it and I get to see how the other half live as we are a small country pub. It bears real relevance to the licensed trade, and is full of interesting people, compared to other trade publications DRAM is more upmarket and more interesting. I like the fact it keeps me informed on what’s happening. It’s also interesting for me to keep up to date as I have a young clientele at the weekends, so I’m always looking for new ideas. For example I cut out the cocktail recipes from one issue and made them for customers. They were very popular.”
“I really like the DRAM and find it very interesting. It has all the latest gossip and brings you up to date. It’s got everything you need, and I look forward to reading it every month.”
“I read the Dram every month to catch up on trade news and gossip on the troops from across the country Dram is a glitzy, fashionable, modern, easy read publication. It’s the vogue of the Scottish on trade.”
“I read DRAM and always get good information from it. I usually flick through and read the articles that catch my eye. The products section is always information. I read articles that bear relevance to me. My bar staff read Dram and so do my customers. I always have a copy to hand near the bar so that anyone can help themselves.”
“The product information is great, the reviews on new bars are very informative. I make a point of keeping up with new products and anything related to legal legislation. Although my main interest is the products pages I do take time to read the magazine in full. We encourage all the staff to read the DRAM here at the Lab.”
“In DRAM magazine I am always looking out for new bars and new managers. I like to keep up to date with new trends to keep in the picture on what’s happening in relation to new people in the industry, news and gossip. I like to ready people’s ideas and I always enjoy the in-depth features on newly opened bars, as it is interesting to view new venues. I would like to see more features on existing venues who have re-invented themselves or undergone refurbishment.
It’s also nice to get a simplified version of new legislation, giving you everything you need to know in a paragraph or two. Overall a very interesting and enjoyable read.”
“I like DRAM. It’s always an enjoyable read. I enjoy reading opinions in features and local information. I can relate to it. There is a lot of information on the Scottish licensed trade. It’s very well put together and it is always good to get information on what is happening in your area in relation to people in the industry and their views and opinions.”
“I find DRAM an enjoyable read and very informative. I always have a wee read and like the product information and when I have the time I read the all the features. I also like to see who is on the front cover.”
